Portugal - Lisbon Faro Madeira

We arrived at the airport at 9AM, quickly took our 'mandatory' arrival selfies then headed to the city! We went by public transport.

Our first stop was The Folks Alfama where we had this EXTREMELY DELICIOUS breakfast dish called Syrniki (mini cottage cheese pancakes with mango syrup). If you're here you have to try it its just amazing!!

We could check in to our accomodation at 2PM and we had this nice view of the city skyline. It was just the perfect little place on the more affordable side. The bed was comfy and the shower had nice and warm water. We also had some cool led lamps in the room which we could use with a remote control.

After a short nap we took the train to Cascais where found a nice sandy beach. On the main walking street we bought these giant pineapple cocktalis (can be alcoholic and non-alcoholic as well) and we took them down to the beach and we had the best time while drinking them! Side note: if you go back and refill your old pineapple cup the second and third one are a lot cheaper!

We started our next day with a nice breakfast at Royale Experience which was only 3 minutes walk from our accomodation. Here we tried the famous pastry of Lisbon which was delicious! Their coffee is great as well.

Today we visited Quinta da Regaleira -> less crowded than the National Palace of Pena -> beautiful gardens and underground passages -> it has a cute cafe with a view -> very reasonable price! We spent basically the whole day here.

After getting ready we started day 3 at Praca de Comercio and we had breakfast with a view at the arch!

We did a full day of sightseeing around the city. We got around mostly by walk but we also tried the famous Tram 28 which took us to the famous landmarks in Lisbon! After sightseeing we went grocery shopping because our next day was a long travel day by bus.

Booked a sunset cruise on the river! Best thing ever to be honest, the music and the drinks were great, also look at that view!! Just keep in mind to bring a jacket or pullover with you because it definitely gets colder as the sun goes down!

Finished our day at the famous TimeOut Market since it was walking distance from the port. I had one of the best padthai here and it felt so good after getting off the boat. There were SO many food options to choose from, from traditional/local to international dishes. I definitely recommend coming here, it lives up to the hype!

Today was a travel day. We took the bus from Lisbon to Faro. Our accomodation was booked on Airbnb and the name is Hugo's place. The bed was really comfy, we had Netflix on the tv, got a balcony and also a kebab place just on the corner of our accomodation! We loved staying here! Since it was a travel day, we didn't really do much, got food and watched a movie. Don't forget that sometimes you need some rest to recharge during travels as well.

Day 2 in Faro started with sightseeing! We took some pictures at the Faro sign by the sea, then went to see the old town. Fun fact that planes fly super close to the ground in Faro so it's a perfect place for plane spotting!

For lunch we choose to visit the most hyped-up restaurant in Faro! Got the best table so we could do pale spotting even while eating lunch. This place didn't disappoint! It's best to book a table in advance (which we didn't do) but we were lucky because someone just left when we arrived so we could get a very good table.

Next we booked an Algarve tour which included a swim inside the Benagil Cave and a nice hiking spot with a very beautiful beach! We had so much fun during this time and learned a lot about their culture on the way! Definitely recommend!

Today was beach day!! We found this pretty beach on the maps so we took a taxi and spent the whole day here! It was literally the perfect choice, we loved every second of it! Not too many people, crystal clear water and even the scenery behind the beach was insanely beautiful!

Travel day again! Hopped on a plane and visited the most beautiful island I've ever seen in my life: Madeira! I kid you not even the bus ride from the airport to our hotel was so pretty I didn't know which way to look! Right afert we arrived to the city of Funchal we took the cable car up to the top of the mountain!

This time we booked a guest house which was pretty good in our opinion! Beds were comfortable and we could use the kitchen to cook for ourselves! Here's a meal we cooked there!✨

After checking in to our accomodation we booked a dolphin watching tour!😍 We saw some dolphins so it was definitely worth it! We also had some swim stops where we could snorkel and see some fish as well!

The next day we booked a full day jeep safari tour around the island! BEST trip ever so this day was probably my favorite of all. First stop was a fishing village called Camara de Lobos which got it's uniqueness from the decoration which was made from rubbish! Local children and adults recycled rubbish to decorate their town and it looks absolutely amazing!!!

The next stop was Cabo Girao Skywalk where we saw the most stunning views (yet, wait for the next stops hahah!) and we had some free time to explore the area and take tons of pictures!

The famous black sand beach, Seixal beach lives up to the hype!!! It was insanely pretty and we got 2 hours free time! Look at that small waterfall next to the sea!😍 Just amazing!

We got a chance to dip in these natural pools but me & my friend decided to just grab a drink and observe people & the waves from the outside. We had so much fun here as well too! Many little souvenir shops🙈

Don't know the name of the exact viewpoints & forests we went through but I've never laughed so hard on this road! The driver let us stand up in the jeep during a short period of time in the forest & everyone enjoyed it so much! Also look at the last picture, we were literally above the clouds!☁️✨

After the jeep safari tour we were not tired yet so we headed to the city, went to see the CR7 statue in front of the museum, did some souvenir shopping and just walked around until sunset.

On our last day we hiked up to the highest point of Madeira! From Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo it was a hard climb but the views were worth it all! Not an experience we get to do every day so we made the most out of it and were very proud of ourselves after completing the hike!💪🏼
