Beaching around Protaras Cyprus

Flew to Larnaca International Airport ✈️ from London. This is the closest airport to Protaras - about a 40 minute drive 🚗.

Checked in to our beautiful hotel - Cavo Maris in Protaras. It is located right on the beach 🏝️ and it is surrounded by palm trees 🌴. The view from the hotel rooms is just amazing. If you wake up early enough you will catch a beautiful sun rise 🌅. The hotel rooms are spacious and cosy. The hotel is at a perfect location as it is surrounded by numerous beaches and it is close to the main road of Protaras Avenue where all the shops and restaurants are.

Just a 5 minute walk from the hotel, you will find yourself at the beautiful cove of Vyzakia Beach 🏝️. This is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sunshine. There are umbrellas and beach beds there you can rent for €7.5 (1 umbrella and 2 beach beds). The crystal clear blue waters are one of the reasons this beach is famous.

This is one of our favourite spots in Protaras for an afternoon coffee ☕️ and dessert. We visit the Kafeneion every summer ☀️ and we are never disappointed. You can enjoy a variety of Cypriot desserts like mahalepi and honey pitta accompanied by an iced coffee. You can also order a Cypriot platter which includes cheese, octopus, olives and crackers to share with your friends. The perfect afternoon snack. The view from there is immaculate.

For dinner we headed to Grecian Park, a 5-star hotel. At the rooftop you will find one of the best sushi 🍣 🍱 restaurants in Protaras. The food is excellent. Towards the pricey side of things but the view and food are totally worth it.

Starting the day with the most refreshing açai bowl 🍓🍇🍒🍑🥭at Lasmari Beach Bar, located in Ayia Napa. Just a 15 minute drive from Cavo Maris. We decided to spend half of our day there. You can pre-book beach beds and cabanas which range between €20 and €50 depending on your choice. The food there is really nice and you have a variety of choices, including club sandwiches, salads and hamburgers. And you also have an extensive list of drinks you can enjoy. Shisha is also available there.

Second stop of the day was Sirena Bay where we met up with friends for an event. Sirena Bay hosts regular day parties where you can enjoy some greek music played by a dj. If you are up for some partying and drinking 🍹 this is your place. Sirena Bay is located in Paralimni area and it is a 10 minute drive from Cavo Maris.

You can’t visit Cyprus 🇨🇾 and not eat traditional loukoumades (honey balls). Panikos Loukoumades is the ultimate place to try them in Protaras. You can get a small plate or you can get a whole platter 😋 Personally the best ones are the traditional ones with syrup but people also like to add nutella and fruit.

Some excellent and yummy Italian food 🍝at Just Italian in Paralimni. The food is amazing and at affordable prices too. The service is very good so we highly recommend this place if you are craving some Italian 😋

Starting the day with an excellent sun rise 🌅 One of the most beautiful experiences in Protaras is the sun rise. You can’t go wrong. The only problem is that you need to wake up super early! But super worth it. The view was amazing and the water was so calm and warm. Highly recommend to do it even for just one time. Kapparis beach is a nice, quiet and small cove perfect to watch the sun rise 🌅

Just at the top of the cove you will find Kohili Beach Bar. It serves yummy breakfast including pancakes, eggs and avocado and many more. That morning we enjoyed a nice stack of pancakes 🥞 with fruit and a fruit salad always accompanied by a frape (iced coffee)😋 The view from the beach bar is a also good reason for you to visit.

A few hours later we visited Kapparis Water Fun, just a 5 minute drive from Kohili Beach Bar. We rented a canoe 🛶 for €10 (1 hour) and we explored the beautiful cove of Kapparis. There’s a beautiful big cave there as well. Perfect for exploring and some photos 😋

At Kapparis Beach you will find the cute beach bar / restaurant called Kalifi. We decided to have lunch there and we ordered mussels and a sea food platter 🐟. We also enjoyed coconut water from a fresh coconut 🥥. The food is always tasteful and yummy. An extra point goes to the beautiful view from the beach bar.

The perfect place for some steak 🥩 is Folio Restaurant in Protaras. We enjoyed a big T-bone steak and words are not enough to describe how delicious the food was. The service is excellent as always and the food is delicious 😋. We highly recommend Folio for the perfect steak 🥩.

To end the night we visited Cartel Cocktail Bar for the most extravagant and beautiful cocktails in the whole of Protaras area. Their cocktails 🍹 are always fun to order and super delicious too 😋

Visiting Kalifi once again the following morning to enjoy some Cypriot breakfast with halloumi and eggs, and a refreshing frozen berries bowl with granola. The perfect start to our day 😋

This is our favourite beach (although it has no name) to visit every summer because we get to snorkel 🤿 with turtles 🐢. We spent a few hours there swimming with turtles and enjoyed the crystal blue waters. If you are visiting this beach and encounter turtles please be considerate. Do not harm them!

I guess we are Asian food lovers, because we went out for some sushi 🍣 🍱 again 😋 We ordered a big platter to share and it was perfect and delicious 🤤

We met up with some friends and went out clubbing at Nava Seaside, one of the most popular beach clubs in Protaras. Amazing vibes and incredible music. If you are in the mood for some night clubbing this is the place for you. There are regular events organised there so make sure you are up to date with their socials.

Off to the most famous and popular beach in Ayia Napa - Nissi Beach 🏝️ . White sand and blue waters; the perfect combination. Definitely recommend this beach for when you are in Cyprus. The numerous beach bars there make this beach very popular so make sure to visit.

Right on the beach at Nissi Beach you will find Isola Beach Bar. The most popular beach bar in the area. We had pre booked our cabanas for €50. It gets packed with people so make sure you pre book otherwise you will be disappointed. The beach bar offers amazing vibes with djs on the decks and amazing food 🍴and drinks🍸. We had lunch there and ordered salads, sea food and more. Everything was delicious 🤤😋

The famous sea caves spot in Ayia Napa. Just a 10 minute drive 🚗 from Nissi Beach you will find yourself at the picturesque Ayia Napa Sea Caves. There is a dirt road to get there so mind what type of car you are driving. Once you get there you will see a lot of people standing at the cliff. On the left you will find a steep, narrow path on the cliff that takes you down to the cave. ⚠️ Take care when going down to the cave as it is a cliff with sharp rocks at the bottom. You will see a lot of people jumping off the cliff into the sea but we did not try our luck, and shouldn’t you. Just enjoy the beautiful view. It’s extra beautiful during sun set time 🌅

This is the famous Love Bridge 🩷 (aka Bridge of Lovers) in Ayia Napa. Another picturesque and insta worthy spot to visit. ⚠️ Again take care when on the bridge as rocks can be unstable at times. The sun set view from there is beautiful so we highly recommend to visit during sunset time 🌅

Went for a swim at Konnos Beach 🏝️. The crystal clear waters are hard to resist. One of the best and most beautiful beaches in Protaras for sure.

Just a 5 minute drive 🚗from Konnos beach, you will find another fun cave to explore. This is Zangooly Cave just beneath the church of Agioi Anargiroi. Going down the stairs from the church you will find yourself in this majestic cave. Lots of people jump from a small cliff next to the cave. Scary but fun, it’s only a small one 😁

Just next to the beautiful small church of Agioi Anargiroi you will find a small ice cream 🍦 van that is always there during the afternoon. The ice cream man sells the best ice cream 🍦 on the island. So grab a few scoops and enjoy the view.

Another favourite beach of ours is Konnos Beach. Right at the bottom of some cliffs you will find one of the best beaches in the Ayia Napa / Protaras area. The water 🌊is crystal clear and is always so clean. We love visiting this beach as it is located in a big cove providing lots of space to find sun beds to relax. At the top of the cliff there is a mini bar that provides food and drinks, perfect for a casual lunch 🥪 with a view. There’s also a water sports kiosk where you can rent jet skis, water slides, paddle boards and more.

Another great beach to visit is Limnara Beach. A quiet small beach just next to Atlantica Mare Village Resort. Not a lot of people go there and this makes it the perfect beach if you are looking to go somewhere thats quiet. The sea is calm and the comfy sun beds make this beach perfect for relaxing.

In a mood for something sweet? Look no more, Patisserie Amelie has amazing waffles 🧇 and crepes served with homemade delicious ice cream 🍨. It is located in the centre of Protaras Avenue where all the shops and restaurants are found. So after you have a nice sweet dessert you can head off for some souvenir shopping.

We wanted to do something different that night so we decided to go for some mini golf ⛳️ . We used to go there as kids so it was super fun to go back and play again. There’s also arcade games there to play and a cafe at the top to enjoy a nice drink 🍹 after you are done. Super fun and we highly recommend to visit if you are in the mood for some mini golf 😋

On our way to the airport ✈️ we stopped at Rebuke Lounge at Makenzy Beach to enjoy a casual lunch. Affordable and delicious food with beautiful beach vibes. The perfect spot for lunch just before you board the plane.
