You'll arrive at Jorge Chávez International Airport. When you're in Lima, take a taxi to the bus station so you can head to Huacachina. You can use BusBud to check availability and bus schedules. After a 4-hour trip, you'll arrive at Wild Rover Hostel. It's a fun place to relax and party if you're into that, and you can get a room for as little as $20 USD a night.

On your first day in Huacachina, take it easy and explore the oasis by simply strolling around the beautiful lagoon at the heart of the village. Grab a snack from a local vendor, enjoy the peaceful vibe, and take in the views of the towering sand dunes surrounding you. Cool activities will wait for you tomorrow.

One of the most enjoyable things to do in Huacachina is sandboarding so if you’re feeling adventurous, give it a go. As you would expect, the vast desert around the oasis offers plenty of epic places to hit the slopes! If it's your first time sandboarding, I recommend learning and having fun in the morning, then enjoying the sunset while riding the buggy.

Head over to Arequipa and explore the historic center, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you can visit The Basilica Cathedral of Arequipa. It's the only cathedral in Peru that stretches the length of a plaza. It also has a history of rising from the ashes.

If you are looking for a more local experience, “Mercado de San Camilo” is one of the best options with a variety of stalls offering fresh and authentic food.

Great place to relax, with cozy rooms and a beautiful garden to walk around. It also features a treehouse, a swimming pool, a restaurant, and a bar. You can find great deals on Hostelworld.

From Arequipa we took a tour to Colca Canyon also known as “Kingdom of the Condor” Viewing points and thermal waters; rafting, climbing and trekking; observation of condors and other typical highland animals in their natural habitat, including alpacas, vizcachas and pumas; all these activities are offered by this valley and its mild climate.

Before heading to Cusco, there's one place that will blow your mind. Rainbow Mountain, also known as “Vinicunca.” 💸 Entry fee: 10 soles ($3 USD) 📸 Pro tip: Don’t go with a tour. Instead, find accommodation in Pitumarca (we stayed at Misk'i Puñuy), then wake up early and get to the mountain before anyone else. Sunrise photos are the best!

From Cusco we did the classic Salkantay trek before visiting Machu Picchu. The first stop was Humantay Lake.

Salkantay is the highest peak in the Vilcabamba mountain range, part of the Peruvian Andes. It is located in the Cusco region, about 60 km (40 miles) northwest of the city of Cusco. If you suffer from altitude sickness take it slowly, drink lots of water and coca tea.

We end the day at Aguas Calientes. Last spot before hiking to Machu Picchu

For visiting Machu Picchu I recommend… ⏰ You go as early as possible coz is very crowded (opens 6:00 am to 5:30 pm) 💵 The cost is 200.00 Peruvian soles ($56 USD) for adults and 125.00 soles ($35 USD) for students & children. 🪪 If you love to collect stamps, bring your passport so you can get a special one 📝 Even if you go early (opens at 6:00 am) there is a reason people visit this place, I mean crowds are inevitable. Be patient and enjoy We decided to hike from Aguas Calientes, so we skipped the train. However, if you prefer, there are several transportation options that can take you to the entrance.
