Are you ready to go for a 5-day tour to some of the most picturesque and unexplored cities of Poland? Let’s go then😆 We started from Larnaca Airport (Cyprus 🇨🇾) heading to Wrocław Airport (Poland 🇵🇱). Both airports were nice, particularly small and easy to navigate and not too crowded which is good if you want to save time in the checking in and boarding process.

Arrived at Wroclaw Airport and headed right to the bus station outside Terminal 2 to take the bus to Wroclaw’s Main Railway Station. It’s the cheapest way to go to the city centre. You grab bus line 106 from Wrocław Airport to the city centre or main railway station 🚊. The ticket costs only 6zloty= 1,4€.

Got to the main Wroclaw train station and took the train to Toruń where we spent our first night🌙. In this trip we travelled through cities with train cause it’s the cheapest, fastest and easiest way to travel in Poland 🇵🇱. Poland has very good train connection between its cities. Ticket 🎫 cost around 15€ per person and it was a 4hour trip.
Excellent
The perfect place to stay on a budget as a couple! Cute studio with cozy details and all the amenities you need for 1-2 days. Features an elevator and the building itself is beautiful. It was late in the evening so we preferred to eat something quick at the room. We opted for traditional Dill Pickle soup (Ogorkowa) and Tomato soup (Pomidorowa) 🥣 from a local mini market.

Continued to Nowomiejski Square. We saw a little farmer’s market there and many traditional bakeries 🥯. Toruń city centre is full of colourful classic buildings and is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. 📌Tip: In small cities like this, it’s a great idea to book a walking tour and get to know some insights and hidden gems of the city!

Time to eat a quick brunch on the way😋 We chose one khachapuri with cheese 🧀 and one with cheese and ham from this Georgian bakery and they were delicious!
Good
Keep on walking through Toruń Stare Miasto, the medieval town of Toruń, and enjoy each corner’s beautiful views. The whole city is small, easy to walk and flat so it’s fairly accessible to people with disabilities and families with small kids👌🏼

You can’t miss a walk around the old city’s Teutonic Castle Ruins. 📌Tip: walk down the stairs and exactly outside the castle ruins you can enjoy relaxing river Vistula’s views.

Last stop in Toruń: Nicolaus Copernicus University and Church of the Holy Spirit. The famous mathematician and astronomer was originally born and raised in Toruń city. 📌Tip: His house is open to the public with a ticket 🎫 of around 5€.

Time to leave Toruń and head over to Bydgoszcz, a small polish city 40minutes away by train 🚆. Ticket 🎫 was about 5,5€ per person.

After almost an hour we arrived at Bydgoszcz centre and we started from the Christmas market as the city was already in Christmas mood 🎄. 📌Tip: If you come early in the evening at this Christmas market you may enjoy live performances with polish music 🎶. In the video you can have a glimpse of the live we had the chance to enjoy!

Enjoy a walk on the side of river Brda and watch the many sculptures with the most famous being Irena Jarocka, a famous polish singer, looking at Opera Nova. If you have more time and the weather is good, visit Mill Island, the island you see behind Irena’s sculpture.
Good
Last stop was the Old Market Square where we saw a second Christmas market and we tasted some jelly and some Kolaczki (polish christmas cookies made with pastry filled with fruit jam, cheese or nuts). We left Bydgoszcz and we headed over to Poznan with train. Around 2hours trip and 6€ ticket per person.

Very average stay in Poznań. Rooms with shared bathroom in an old nice building but without elevator. They could be cleaner for sure and with better services (mattress was bad, towels are being charged). We didn’t quite like our stay there but the only good thing is it was near the center.
Good
Walk tour around the city. We started from Polwiejska shopping street and we wandered through the alleys.

Tried this traditional pie called Drozdzowka 🥯 (buttery sweet bread with cream cheese filling). It was about 1,5€ and delicious 😋. This local bakery offers more than many options for every taste.

Quick stop at one of Poznan’s Mall to get a bit warm as it was freezing cold 🥶 outside and to enjoy a bit of Christmas decoration🎄. There were many shops with fair prices!

BEST SCHNITZEL we have ever eaten!!😋 Don’t miss it if you’re in Poznan. Accompanied with boiled potatoes seasoned with fresh dill (they eat them a lot) and salad. Costs around 7,5€ and it’s really really big!!
Good
We had a walk in old market square, the most famous place in Poznań mainly because of the colourful buildings around the square and the emblematic Town Hall in the centre. Unfortunately it was under construction 🚧 so we didn’t have much to do there. 📌Tip: Normally in this square there are a lot of pavement cafes and pubs open until late at night and many events take place here.
Good
The Christmas Market was so magical💫 And here we had the best mulled wine🍷 ever!! 📌Info: If you drink mulled wine here as in many Christmas markets in Europe you have to pay an extra amount for the cup and you take the money back when you give the cup back.

What a dreamy morning!! We woke up and it was snowing 🌨️😍 We headed over to Poznan Glowny (main train stations in Poland are usually called Glowny and the city’s name). We took the train to Wroclaw.

Nice restaurant with variety of both traditional and comfort cuisine. We tried traditional polish zurek. Good service and you can find a table without reservation while in all other restaurants around wanted a reservation.

Wandering around Wroclaw Main Square while the Christmas market was open. We tried polish fast food 🥪, bought some souvenirs and went for some dwarf hunting. 📌Info: Dwarfs of Wroclaw are a funny attraction and you can find them hidden in almost every corner of the city. They represent everyday life scenes.

We stayed at a private room of this hostel. The room was minimal and clean and the amenities were very good (big kitchen, elevator, room to leave your luggage with no extra charge in case you arrive earlier or leave later). There was 24hour reception with very kind and very helpful staff👌🏼
Good
Last day in Poland 🇵🇱 and first stop was Plac Solny to admire the colourful picturesque architecture of the city.
Good
Let’s see Wroclaw Main Square and the Town Hall in the morning. We couldn’t leave without trying some pierogi- the polish version of dumplings 🥟. We chose with meat filling and caramelised onion and they were perfect 🤩 📌Must eat in Poland: pierogi, zurek, paczki (polish doughnuts 🍩), sernik (like cheesecake).
Good
Another square with colourful houses😍. This is a square with street vendors selling from flowers to clothes and small antiques.
Good
Last stop in Wroclaw has to be the city’s Cathedral. Located around 30min by foot from downtown and across the river of Oder it’s a must visit!
