Stayed at Backpacker’s Inn which is right next to Perk & Cafe. Unfortunately, the hostel is now closed but there are lots of other hostels and hotels in this area. Backpacker’s Inn was of the best hostels I’ve stayed at. Location was great with 3 train stations within walking distance and lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. It’s also a 10-minute walk from Ximending Shopping District.

For day 2, I joined a free walking tour with a local tour guide. This walking tour is also something you can do without a guide. Just follow Google Maps to go from one place to the next. The meetup of the tour was at Mengxia Park. From here, the Longshan Temple is just a few minutes away. This temple is a Chinese folk religious temple in Wanhua District, Taipei, Taiwan. The temple was built in Taipei in 1738 by settlers from Fujian during Qing rule in honor of Guanyin. Entrance to the temple is free.

One thing you shouldn’t miss out while in Taipei is touring the North Coast. For this, I booked a guided small group tour. This tour lasted for about 9 hours. First stop is Yehliu Geopark. It is a cape on the north coast of Taiwan. It’s known for its landscape of honeycomb and mushroom rocks eroded by the sea.
