Jekyll Island Getaway

My husband and I chose to stay at Villas by the Sea for our Memorial weekend getaway. We were pleasantly surprised by how great our room was! We opted for a quick dinner at the restaurant on site since we got into town late. https://www.villasbythesearesort.com

Waking up for sunrise on Driftwood Beach is a must-do in Jekyll!! Magical!

Another thing Jekyll is well-known for is it’s bike paths. I rented a bike for myself from our hotel, but there are hike rental locations all around the island. (As you can see, my husband is in full triathlon gear. He brought his own bike and had every intention of doing a real workout until I decided to tag along 😜) . After biking, we packed our cooler and snacks and headed out to relax on the beach!

Dinner and sunset at The Wharf! Pro tip - wait longer to sit outside, it’s worth it!

After getting sunburned the day before, we opted for breakfast at Tribuzio’s on the golf course (https://lakehawk.net/dan/tgmenu.pdf) and then the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. We learned a lot about turtles 🐢

We bought a massive umbrella at one of the stores downtown and returned to the beach to lounge in the shade for the rest of the day!
