San Juan arrival early in the morning. Had an early breakfast and rented a car. Visited El Viejo San Juan. Used a parking garage and walked to el Castillo de San Cristóbal. $10 entry fee for two castles

Beautiful Airbnb. Right next door to El Conquistador. Walking distance to restaurants and very close to water taxi that takes you to the islands. Drive was smooth. Felt very safe

Stayed in Airbnb in Las Croabas. Great view. Right next door to El Conquistador. Enjoyed the resorts fireworks without paying resort fees.

Took water taxi to Icacos Island for just $50. You can bring your own lunch and snorkel gear to enjoy crystal clear water. Used beach umbrella and chair provided by the Airbnb. Enjoyed and nice dinner at El Yate restaurant.

That was the best part! Everyone is kind and helpful. Up until going to PR I thought Costa Rica had the kindest people. But Puerto Rico is right up there. I felt safe.

It was about $200 for the whole stay. Didn’t pay for insurance though. They just asked for a copy of my policy and the credit card statement about coverage for rentals. It included the tolls.

Old San Juan was very unique. The castles had spectacular views. I loved Fajardo and Luquillo due to the proximity to the mountains and rain forest while having the ocean views.
