Catalonia

The flight was from Newark Liberty International Airport to Josep Tarradellas Airport. The duration of flight was 10 hours 30 minutes and the flight was of tap air portugal airways. The airport was well managed by the crew and was very clean. The security checking was very fast making the process fast. The staff were friendly and helpful. The airport had cafes. We had booked a rental car for the entire trip.

We checked in to the Marriott Tarragona which was 1 hour away from the airport. We were welcomed with beautiful roses. It was located near to the commercial center. The staff were very attentive and were available whenever we needed them. The rooms appointed to us were very clean and they were comfortable. The only thing that was disappointing to us was the hotel was not worth the price.

Amfiteatre de Tarragona which is considered as world heritage side by UNESCO. It is located at great location right besides sea. It was a great point to take lovely photos. The Amfiteatre though old was worth visiting. The place was must a visit to know about Roman history. Besiodes Amfitheatre, there was an amusement park.

Arcs Restaurant was the best restaurant in Terragona. The interior ambiance was excellent. Starting from soup to desert, everything was delicious and tasty. The local wine even had a good taste. The staff were very friendly and they attended us personally. The atmosphere was cosy. We had a perfect date night. The dine in was memorable.

After having our breakfast, we went to our first destination of the day Circ Roma which was 10 minutes away from the hotel. Its an Amfiteatre having an excellent roman culture and architecture. The ruins were of the chariot track. We had a great experience to watch the time travel. It was worth visiting.

Monasterio de Santa Maria de Poblet was 1 hour away from the Circ Roma. The monastery is located at Prades mountain. Though it was very away, but was worth a visit. The tombs were of ancient Spanish kings. It had fantastic history and the interior was worth watching. The Gothic cloister was spectacular. The surrounding is covered with vineyards and full of mountains.

After enjoying the history of Tarragona, we went to La Seu d’ Urgell and checked in to Castell de Ciutat hotel. The total duration from monastery to hotel was 2 hours. The room assigned to us had lovely terrace with outstanding views of the valley. The staff were very cooperative and provided us all the services we expected. They gave us excellent amenities. The pool was very clean and was well maintained. Overall it was a great stay.

El Menjador was a vegan restaurant. The location is quite romantic. It was a good place for a couple. The food style was tapas and the menu was priced reasonably. The food was not so good in taste excluding, vegan croquetas and burger. The staff spoke very well and they had very good in nature.

We started our day after having refreshing breakfast, and then continued exploring La Seu d Urgell. This is only the Romanesque culture cathedral. It had some unique arcades. The three sides capitals are said to be twelfth century ancient. The museum was worth in this as it was house of most of the religious artifacts. The beauty of cathedral was amazing.

Parc Olimpic del Segre was the best thrill in La Seu d’ Urgell. It was so amazing experience being there. It was perfect venue for enjoying adventures with your partner. We had fun doing kayaking, river rafting and tubing. We even had romantic walk around watching the local people and their activities.

Arbeletxe was 10 minutes away from the Parc Olimpic del Segre. The food was very tasty. Not only the quantity, but even the quality was the best. The best dish was pulpo pocobus, which was served and decorated very well. The staff were very attentive and the service was decent. The restaurant was well managed.We had fantastic dining experience.

We checked out from the hotel, after having breakfast. Monestir de Santa Maria de Ripoll was 2 hours away from the hotel. It was a historic site. Ripoll is an perfect representative of Catalan architecture. The monastery is dated back to 8 century, and the best part was Romanesque Monastery. It is very large and it was well maintained. It had unique history. It took a lot of time knock about the monastery.

Pont de Besalu was 1 hour away from the monastery. Besalu is a town and it was capital of the country. Pont de Besalu is a bridge with enormous defense towers and is dated back to medieval times. This place had many souvenirs and handmade chocolates which were so delicious. The place which had river was very cosy place and we strolled around which was so lovely time.

We checked in to Santa Marta Hotel which was 1 hour away from the last destination. The hotel was located at very great location and we had relaxed stay. The rooms were very comfortable and the amenities given were perfect. The staff even were helpful and friendly. The hotel was very fashionable and it was located near the beach so the views from the windows were stunning. We had an amazing time at this hotel.

Orient Express served fantastic food but the rates were costly. The restaurant was very clean and neat and it was well ornamented. The theme of the restaurant was very marvelous. The service was excellent and they were very approachable. The best dish item was Giant burger with barbecue toppings. The waiter assigned to us helped us by suggesting the best cocktail which was very good.

Playa de la Fosca is a public beach which is located Mediterranean Costa Brava. The beach was great for paddling and snorkeling was also fun as their were so many fishes. It was very crowded. The beach was very sandy making the atmosphere lovely. It was well surrounded by the nature making the walk more peaceful and enjoyable.

We headed to Palafrugell, and visited The Cork Museum which was 20 minutes away from the beach. It was about the cork industry. It was well detailed. The history was very important to know when visiting the cork museum. The machines were very huge and it created a lot of noise. It was very pleasurable to watch the whole process.

Begur's Castle was 20 minutes away from the last destination. It was really beautiful. The history is so interesting. It was nice interacting with the local people. We enjoyed strolling around the streets. The hiking to the caste was easy and the atmosphere was cool. There were no amenities provided. The thing that disappointed was the roads weren't very clean.

Turandot was near Begurs castle. They served us very uniquely. The food was cooked perfectly. From starters especially cannelloni starter to deserts, the dishes were perfect. The staff were very friendly and they attended us very well. The wine list was very different and we came across new wines. The atmosphere was cool and we had great dining experience.

After having breakfast, we headed to Barcelona and checked into The Midmost Hotel which was 20 minutes away from the Santa Marta Hotel. The rooms were very spacious. The hotel was well maintained and the staff were very attentive and were available whenever we needed them. The hotel is located at convenient and was easy to direct. The terrazzo on top floor had great pool and was very clean.
