Our Valencia trip begin with a 2 hour British airways flight from Heathrow Airport to Valencia Airport. Small modern airport with quick security check and very helpful ground staff.

We decided to rent a SUV from the airport and it took us 30 min drive to our hotel. Excellent location near to beach, rooms were spacious and clean and the hospitality was top-notch.

In the evening after a nap we strolled over the streets and reached The Central Market of Valencia. It’s an absolutely spectacular market loaded with lots of stalls, they sell products and fresh fruit and seafood.

Returned back and had dinner at the hotel itself. Dinning was well organised and food was excellent, staff was very careful and attentive.

Started our day with a delicious buffet breakfast and after 10 min drive reached L'Oceanografic, which is largest aquarium in Europe. Great sea life center, loved the dolphins show, place is very well managed. Whales can be seen here.

It is a unique building complex which consists of a huge aquarium and a science center. Excellent architecture and the science museum is well arranged.

Further driving for around 10 min we reached a fine dinning restaurant for lunch. Food was great, dishes were well presented and service was professional.

La Lonja de la Seda is a master piece which represents the Gothic architecture and was used for silk trading. High standard stone and wood work is done, place is well maintained and entry is free.

La Tomatina is a festival held on a Wednesday towards the end of August in the town of Buñol in the Valencia region in Spain. Tens of thousands of participants come from all over the world to fight in a harmless battle where more than one hundred metric tons of over-ripe tomatoes are thrown in the streets. Many trucks haul the bounty of tomatoes into the center of the town, Plaza del Pueblo. The tomatoes come from Extremadura, where they are less expensive. The signal for the beginning of the fight is firing of the cannon, and the chaos begins. Once it begins, the battle is generally every man for himself. Those who partake in this event are strongly encouraged to wear protective safety goggles and gloves. In addition, they must squish the tomatoes before throwing for safety precautions. Another rule is that no one is allowed to bring into this fight anything that may provoke someone into a more serious brawl, such as a glass bottle. It is highly frowned upon to tear someone else’s clothing. Somewhere between an hour and two hours, the fighting ends and the cannon is fired once more to signal the end. At this point no more tomatoes can be thrown. The cleaning process involves the use of fire trucks to spray down the streets, with water provided from a Roman aqueduct. People find water to wash themselves, most likely at the Buñol River.

Of the best clubs in Valencia, apart from being ambient, the music is great, the workers super nice and attentive and the atmosphere is unbeatable, without a doubt one of the best places to party in Valencia.

It was a sunny morning and time to go so we packed our luggage and took a 30 min drive to Valencia Airport from where we boarded a 3 hours British airways flight to Heathrow Airport. The flight was extremely comfortable and the cabin crew was very kind and helpful.
