We got quite an early flight with RyanAir - setting off at 6:50 and arriving around 11:00. I would highly recommend paying a bit extra for a taxi as we did originally book a transfer, but were told it would take around 2 hours whereas a taxi takes 40 mins to Los Gigantes! I was too keen to get the party started with our friends so we decided to grab a taxi instead. You can pay cash or card which is useful!

When we arrived in Los Gigantes we headed to the Green Corner in the village for a snack (they do traditional pub grub) and some sangria! I’ve been to the Green Corner quite a few times on my trips to Tenerife over the years and it remains a staple favourite. FYI - the sangria is quite strong! Which is always a good way to kickstart your holiday 🤪

We headed to Playa Los Guios which is a small beach in Los Gigantes. It gets quite busy at peak times so it’s better to go in the early morning or a bit later in the day, the sand can get super hot with it being black sand so be careful! There are some amazing views of the cliffs from this beach so it’s definitely worth a visit.

We headed to the harbour where you can see “the giants” which are the huge cliffs in Los Gigantes - there are also lots of places you can book a boat trip including the Flipper Uno which is a giant pirate shop that has excursions twice a day. Along the harbour are also lots of great seafood restaurants and bars, the perfect setting for dining!

We headed to the fairly new Bistro 22 in Los Gigantes. It’s a small restaurant with an amazing range of Italian dishes. The staff were super friendly and the food was perfect! It was quite a warm night in January so we sat outside. Cost range is quite cheap in comparison to other restaurants in the area.

We were lucky enough to be there on one of the big Christmas celebrations “Los Reyes Magos” which is a celebration around the three wise men. There were performances, fireworks, and music which was really cool to see. It gets super busy in the plaza when the big parade comes down, but it’s worth it! A great atmosphere and so fun to see everyone come together to celebrate. 🎉

This is an absolute must-do excursion in Tenerife! We absolutely loved every minute of it. We took a taxi out from Los Gigantes to the Buggy Doo office and they went over all of the safety details, showed us how to use the buggies and we were off! The trip lasted 4 hours (2 hours to Mt Teide and then back) and it’s a super scenic route. Something a bit different to do and probably one of the best ways to see the island. You get to stop off multiple times to see different areas and then stop at Mt Teide summit. There’s a restaurant and toilets there and also a souvenir shop which you can stop off at as part of the trip. It’s worth noting that this buggy course doesn’t take you up to Mt Teide but to the bottom where’s you can see the most amazing views. The tour guide was incredible and we felt safe. He takes pictures throughout which you can pay 30 euros for at the end for the full Google Drive of your pics, it’s definitely worth it for the memories and they were far better than the ones we took anyway. 😂 We would 100% recommend and also do this again in the future!

We did the pool party at Monkey Beach as we wanted to experience some of the party vibes in Tenerife! We booked the 60 euros each brunch ticket which included two bottle of cava and a starter, main and dessert (bento style). The place is very scenic with an infinity pool and panoramic views of the beach. It gets so hot up there even on sunny days in the winter months too. The staff were really helpful and friendly, the bongo drummer and saxophone player were great! It's a fun thing to do on a sunny day and it does get quite busy so arrive early for a good table to sit on. There's two resident DJs who play chilled house music which gave it all the summer vibes even in Jan! The food was average, but good to line your stomach before drinking. The sushi was a bit rubbery and definitely not fresh but it wasn't a problem. The drinks are extremely overpriced (25 euros for a beer and 4 tequila shots and 180 for a bottle of Gordon's Gin!! Which is a bit wild) but it didn't takeaway from our experience too much. We did have a great time and would 100% go again for the atmosphere, views and good music. It's a great spot to visit with friends and you can easily spend a few hours there.

When we finally recovered from a mid-day hangover we decided we wanted some greasy food. We headed to the Sizzling Punjab which is located in the village of Los Gigantes. You’ll find all the traditional curries, sundries and rice dishes here with reasonably priced drinks. The staff are really helpful and we enjoyed the food here.

This is quite a hard to find spot! If you walk up past the Diamond Hotel, keep going uphill, take a right again and you’ll see the beaten path around this area. Perfect time to go is early in the morning as there was absolutely no one there. It’s a perfect viewing spot to see the cliffs and the harbour. It’s so peaceful!

**PLEASE BE CAREFUL HERE** This is a must-see in Los Gigantes, it’s a beautiful natural pool that you can swim in or sunbathe around the sides. It’s a perfect nature spot and it is one of my favourites. Please just take caution around the edge where it meets the sea. Lots of people have been dragged into the sea by sitting on the edge or falling in as the tide can get very rough and some people haven’t survived it sadly. Usually when the tide is like this they block off the area but please just stay clear of the edge and enjoy the natural pool without sitting on the side as it’s not worth the risk! You can go up to the side and be behind a wall and still see all of the coastline 🌊

We stopped by this place on a recommendation. It’s an authentic Italian restaurant with the added twist of having sangria on the menu which is always a plus when in Spain or a Spanish islands. Unfortunately I wasn’t feeling too well (thanks sushi in the sun!) so I stuck with the Caesar Salad which was still great. My friends and fiancé ordered the Lasagne, the pizza and a risotto which they all loved. It’s a really nice and peaceful spot with really friendly staff.
