Bike Ride Spain - Olvera

🚵‍♀️ 36km bike ride starting in Puerto Serrano on Via Verde La Serria to Olvera in Spain! We started the trip at around 10:30am. The trail was already busy with riders. At the entrance you will find a guide to help you for information about the trail. You also find a bike rental shack available for the trail. 💰 Bike rental - €13 a day It was a pretty cold morning around 50 degrees but with the sun out it was not bad. I was overly dressed and definitely took of lots of layers only a few Km’s in. The ride was hard. A lot harder then we had anticipated. But this was our very first ride like this. I am used to riding on flat city streets. So our 36km ride took around 5 hours riding time but 6 hours total. Much longer then we thought.

Along this trail you will through 30 tunnels with one being about a mile. Some tunnels have lightening some don’t. Make sure to have a decent bike light or head lamp.

Beautiful views along the path through the mountains. Focused on getting to our destination so didn’t take many pictures.

Along the way you have several places to make pit stops for food and drinks. The first one is 15km(9 miles) in at the Coripe station. Then about another 30 min past there you have a cantina in Zaframagon. There are water fill stations available at those spots. 💰 €12 for potato salad, Lomo Cerdo sandwich and two beers at the Cantina in Zaframagon.

At this point of the trail we were really excited thinking we were close to our destination but unfortunately this part of the trail was the hardest. It took much longer than anticipated.

We made it to Olvera station which was the end of the ride except we had to make it up to the actual town of Olvera. That was a mile up hill! We didn’t know this coming in. So be prepared if you are staying in town that it is a hike. There is a place to stay at end of the trail but it was booked when we decided to do our trip. That being said our Bed & Breakfast No 31 was absolutely amazing. The hosts were very sweet. They had a place for us to put our bikes. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. We had views of the church and castle. They also had rooftop access for even more amazing views. Our stay also included breakfast in the morning! Highly recommend them. 💰 one night stay €80

I cannot tag the restaurant but it was called Aire. It’s located at the bottom of town which is considered New Olvera. I highly recommend this place. We had tomatoes with fish, a mixed meat plate, and salmon with rice and a slaw. Everything was delicious. 💰 Dinner with beer and wine - €33

Started our bike ride back early after a delicious Spanish style breakfast at the Bed & Breakfast.

The ride back was not bad at all. All down hill and took around 3 hours.
