A day in Madrid

Excellent stay at ME Madrid Reina Victoria. Hotel is very centrally located. Staff are super friendly and helpful; most speak English. Rooms are clean, cozy and spacious enough. Breakfast was really good. Can only recommend!

A nice street to walk down or stop off for some shopping

Once the center of old Madrid, this square was first built between 1580-1619. There is a bronze statue of King Philip III at the center of the square

A short walk away from Plaza Mayor is Plaza Puerta del Sol. Stunning architecture all around on the walk over. It’s a buzzing square with lots of shops and restaurants, where we spent a few hours looking and shopping around.

For dinner, we reserved a table at Amazonico, an Amazon-themed restaurant serving a fusion of Asian, Mediterranean, and Brazilian cuisines. We tried a variety of starters and a couple of mains. sushi was the main highlight.

And that’s a wrap on the quick stopover in Madrid. Definitely somewhere I’d go back to explore more!
