Our adventure to the land of ice and fire starts from Malpensa with a direct 4-hour flight to Reykjavik✈️ La nostra avventura verso la terra del ghiaccio e del fuoco parte da Malpensa con un volo diretto per Reykjavik di 4 ore✈️

The first thing we do upon landing is pick up our rental car. A shuttle will take you directly from the airport to the rental location! P.S. Remember to get full insurance; the weather conditions in Iceland are unpredictable, so having good car insurance is essential!🚘 La prima cosa che facciamo appena atterrati è andare a ritirare la nostra auto a noleggio. Una navetta vi condurrà direttamente dall'aeroporto al noleggio! N.B. Ricorda di stipulare un'assicurazione completa, le condizioni climatiche in Islanda sono imprevedibili, quindi avere una buona assicurazione auto è fondamentale!🚘

The second thing we do after picking up the car is go grocery shopping, as we will be staying in apartments or guest houses. We recommend Krónan or Bonus; they are the cheapest and well-stocked🛒 La seconda cosa che facciamo dopo aver ritirato l'auto è andare a fare la spesa dato che alloggeremo in appartamenti o guest house. Vi consigliamo Krónan o Bonus, sono i più economici e sono ben forniti🛒

We then head to the accommodation where we will stay for the next two nights. Here, peace and relaxation reign supreme💤 We leave our luggage and set off towards the first stop of this trip!📍 Ci dirigiamo poi verso l'alloggio dove staremo per le prossime due notti. Here we are at the first stop of the trip! One of Iceland's most famous waterfalls. The unique feature of this waterfall is the possibility to walk behind it; however, during the winter season, the path is closed because it becomes dangerous due to ice🧊 Eccoci arrivati alla prima tappa del viaggio! Una delle cascate più famose dell'Islanda. La particolarità di questa cascata è la possibilità di poter passare dietro di essa, purtroppo però nel periodo invernale viene chiuso il sentiero perché essendo ghiacciato diventa pericoloso🧊

Just a short walk from the previous waterfall, you will come across this gem, a hidden waterfall among the rocks 🪨 Bring crampons in case the ground is icy, and a raincoat 💦 A pochi passi dalla cascata precedente vi potrete imbattere in questa perla, una cascata nascosta tra le rocce 🪨 Portate con voi dei ramponcini, in caso il terreno fosse ghiacciato, e un impermeabile 💦

We conclude the day by watching the sunset from this famous promontory🌅 If you come in the summer, you might also spot puffins here🐧 Concludiamo il giorno ammirando il tramonto da questo famoso promontorio🌅 Se verrete in estate qui potrete anche avvistare le pulcinelle di mare🐧

What better way to start the day than with one of the most iconic waterfalls in all of Iceland?🇮🇸 This morning, we wake up early to enjoy this natural wonder without the tourist crowds. This time of day makes the waterfall even more majestic😍 Quale modo migliore per iniziare una giornata se non con una delle cascate più iconiche di tutta l'Islanda?🇮🇸 Stamattina sveglia presto per godere di questo spettacolo della natura senza la folla dei turisti. Questo orario rende la cascata ancora più maestosa😍

Second stop of the day is this spectacular canyon. A roughly 20-minute walk will take you to the main viewpoint, where you can enjoy a unique view of the entire canyon🥾 Seconda tappa della giornata in questo canyon spettacolare. Una camminata di circa 20 minuti vi condurrà al punto panoramico principale dovete potrete godere di una vista unica sull'intero canyon🥾

After returning to the apartment for a quick lunch, we headed to the next stop. This plane crashed on this beach in 1972, making an emergency landing. There were no casualties🛩️ Today, it's one of Iceland's most well-known attractions, and you can reach it on foot or by shuttle available from the parking lot🚶‍♂️‍➡️🚌 Dopo essere tornati in appartamento per un pranzo veloce, ci siamo diretti verso la tappa successiva. Questo aereo precipitò nel 1972 su questa spiaggia effettuando un atterraggio di emergenza. Non ci furono vittime🛩️ Ad oggi è una delle attrazioni più conosciute dell Islanda e la potrete raggiungere a piedi o con la shuttle disponibile dal parcheggio🚶‍♂️‍➡️🚌

The last stop of the day is this stunning waterfall located a short distance from the nearby Skogafoss. A 15-minute walk will take you directly behind the waterfall, where you can see it from a different perspective and take some truly unique photos!📸 After visiting the waterfall, we returned to the apartment to rest. Tonight, we will go hunting for the Northern Lights💚 L'ultima tappa della giornata è questa stupenda cascata che si trova a pochi passi dalla vicina skogafoss. Una camminata di circa 15 minuti vi poterà direttamente dietro alla cascata dove potrete vederla da una prospettiva differente e scattare delle foto veramente particolari!📸 Dopo la visita alla cascata siamo tornati all'appartamento per riposarci, stasera andremo a caccia dell'aurora boreale💚

The best way to end a day, literally speechless💚😍, a dream come true! Il modo migliore di finire una giornata, letteralmente senza parole💚😍, il sogno di una vita che si avvera!

Today, wake up early because we'll also be changing accommodation. Continuing our road trip, we start with the famous black sand beach, one of the most dangerous in the world.🌊 Oggi sveglia presto perché cambieremo anche alloggio. Per continuare nel nostro on the road, iniziamo dalla famosa spiaggia nera, una delle più pericolose al mondo.🌊

A place we've been dreaming of for so long, seeing the tongue of a glacier just a few meters away is an incredible feeling🧊 Un luogo che sognavamo da tanto, vedere la lingua di un ghiacciaio a pochi metri da te e una emozione incredibile🧊

We continue, and finally, we arrive at the largest glacier in Europe😍 No descriptions are needed for this place!🤩 Proseguiamo e finalmente arriviamo al ghiacciaio più grande d'Europa😍 non servono descrizioni per questo posto!🤩

And here we are at tonight's accommodation, a real spectacle! Hofn is the most convenient town to stay in this part of the island. Tomorrow, we will explore this area🖤 Ed eccoci nell'alloggio di questa notte, un vero spettacolo! Hofn è la cittadina più comoda per alloggiare in questa parte dell'isola, domani esploreremo questa zona🖤

We start the day in one of those places where no matter how much time passes, it's never enough! We got lost in the vastness of this beach 😍 The cost to access it is only €6 per person, payable at the Viking bar before entering. Iniziamo la giornata in uno di quei posti dove non importa quanto tempo passi, non è mai abbastanza! Ci siamo persi nell'immensità di questa spiaggia 😍 Il costo per accedervi è di soli 6€ a persona che si pagano nel bar vichingo prima dell'ingresso

Today, we decided to take a guided tour to the ice caves of the Vatnajökull glacier, definitely an unmissable experience in the winter season 🧊 Oggi abbiamo deciso di fare l'escursione guidata alle ice cave del ghiacciaio Vatnajökull, sicuramente un'esperienza imperdibile nel periodo invernale 🧊

📍Second stop of the day! The icebergs breaking off from the glacier float to Jökulsárlón Lagoon and then head out to sea to land on the black beach where, with the continuous action of the waves, they are smoothed into various shapes in smaller pieces. 📍Seconda tappa della giornata! Gli iceberg che si staccano dal ghiacciaio galleggiano fino alla laguna di Jökulsárlón e prendono poi il largo per approdare sulla spiaggia nera dove, con la continua azione delle onde, vengono levigati nelle più svariate forme in pezzi più piccoli.

One of our absolute favorite places! Here you can breathe the true essence of Iceland, far from tourism! From the parking lot, a one-hour uphill trek will take you to the main viewpoint of this canyon.⛰️ Uno dei nostri posti preferiti in assoluto! Qui si respira la vera essenza dell'Islanda, lontano dal turismo! Dal parcheggio un trekking di circa un'ora in salita vi condurrà al punto panoramico principale di questo Canyon.⛰️

For tonight, we returned to the Vik area because tomorrow we will move towards the capital. Per questa notte siamo tornati nella zona di Vik perché domani ci sposteremo verso la capitale

For the second time, this magical land gives us this spectacle 💚 Per la seconda volta questa terra magica ci regala questo spettacolo 💚

Today we'll explore the Golden Circle. We start with Iceland's most famous geothermal area. The most punctual geyser is Strokkur, which produces water and steam jets every 6/10 minutes💦 Oggi esploreremo il Golden Circle. Partiamo dalla zona geotermica più famosa dell'Islanda. Il geyser più puntuale è lo Strokkur che genera getti di acqua e vapore ogni 6/10 minuti💦

The second point of interest in this area is the Gulfoss waterfall, one of the largest in Iceland 🇮🇸 Il secondo punto di interesse di questa zona è la cascata Gulfoss, una delle più grosse in Islanda 🇮🇸

The last stop of the day is this crater formed approximately 3000 years ago during a volcanic eruption that created a wide explosion area. Over time, water began to fill the crater, creating a lake with a beautiful deep blue color (in summer). 🌋 Ultima tappa della giornata è questo cratere formato circa 3000 anni fa durante un'eruzione vulcanica che ha creato una vasta area di esplosione. Con il passare del tempo, l'acqua ha iniziato a riempire il cratere, creando un lago dal bellissimo colore blu intenso (in estate). 🌋

Last accommodation of the trip, staying right in the heart of Reykjavik 🇮🇸 Ultimo alloggio del viaggio, soggiornando proprio nel cuore di Reykjavik 🇮🇸

After resting and having dinner in the apartment, even tonight, although less intense, we saw the Northern Lights 💚 Dopo esserci riposati e aver cenato in appartamento, anche questa sera, seppur meno intensa, abbiamo visto l'aurora boreale 💚

After a couple of hours by car, we arrived in the northern region of Iceland, much wilder with few houses. A point of interest is this black church scattered in the middle of nowhere🖤⛪️ Dopo un paio d'ore in auto siamo arrivati nella zona nord Islanda, molto più selvaggia e con poche abitazioni, un punto di interesse e questa chiesa nera dispersa nel nulla🖤⛪️

The second stop of the day is this small fishing village where you can admire this spectacular cliff 🪨🌊 La seconda tappa della giornata è questo piccolo paesino di pescatori dove potete ammirare questa spettacolare scogliera 🪨🌊

We continue along the road and arrive at this iconic mountain, a symbol of Iceland, also made famous by the TV series Game of Thrones ⛰️ This was the last stop of the day before the long journey back to Reykjavik. Proseguiamo lungo la strada e arriviamo a questo monte simbolo dell'Islanda, reso celebre anche dalla serie tv Game of Thrones ⛰️ Questa era l'ultimo punto della giornata prima del lungo viaggio di ritorno a Reykjavik .

On our last day, we decide to relax at the hot springs! An experience we highly recommend to immerse yourself in Icelandic tradition. We suggest purchasing the entrance ticket for the Seven Step route. 🧖‍♀️ Quest'ultimo giorno decidiamo di rilassarci alle terme! Un'esperienza che consigliamo per immergervi nella tradizione islandese. Vi consigliamo di acquistare il biglietto d'ingresso con il percorso Seven step. 🧖‍♀️

After a quick lunch inside the hot springs, we explore the city starting from the famous Reykjavik Cathedral ⛪️ Dopo un breve pranzo fatto l'interno delle terme esploriamo la città partendo dalla famosa cattedrale di Reykjavik ⛪️

We then walk along the road in front of the cathedral, which leads to Rainbow Street 🌈 Percorriamo poi la strada di fronte alla cattedrale, che arriva fino alla Rainbow Street 🌈

We continued our stroll, exploring the surrounding areas, and finally stopped for dinner at this restaurant! Abbiamo continuato la nostra passeggiata esplorando le zone limitrofe ed infine ci siamo fermati per cena in questo locale!

It's time to go home, but we're sure we'll see this country again soon ❤️ E tempo di tornare a casa, ma siamo sicuri che rivedremo presto questo paese❤️
