Trip-Modena

Departure with the regional train from Porretta Terme, change in Bologna, and then I took the regional train to Modena! As soon as I arrived in Modena, since it was very early, I took the opportunity to do a photo session and immortalize the streets and squares of the city with very few people around!

After an hour of exploring the historic center, I headed around 8:00 for breakfast at "Caffè Remondini". In this historic place in Modena you can find a great variety of excellent desserts, as well as kindness and courtesy!

Then I went to the B&B Modena hotel, to check in and put my suitcase in the room, a very welcoming and clean structure!

Immediately after, I headed to the Modena info point, here I booked visits to the most important places in the city! I visited the Modena Cathedral, whose entrance is free, I was surprised by the great beauty of this basilica, very simple on the outside and very rich in decorations and frescoes on the inside, and where there is the tomb that contains the remains of San Geminiano and the cult of relics!

Then I headed to the bell tower of the Cathedral, the Ghirlandina tower, my turn was at 11:00, and with only 3 euros you can admire Modena from above, a recommended visit!!

I had lunch with the famous Modena tigelle, at Tigellino, a restaurant near the Palazzo Ducale, really very good!

Then I went to the Acetaia Comunale, where I attended a lesson for an hour on how Modena I.G.P vinegar and Modena D.O.P vinegar are made and I also took part in a vinegar tasting! Afterwards I went to visit the rooms of the Palazzo Comunale, truly wonderful!!! Return to the hotel and rest!

In the evening I went out and had dinner at “Al Grottino” a Modenese pizzeria and I walked through the streets of the center!

After having breakfast at the hotel, I headed to visit the museums of the Duomo, the immersive room was particularly interesting!

Then I wanted to visit various churches including the beautiful Church of San Giorgio, extremely fascinating!! And I had lunch eating a sandwich!

Later, together with the guide, I went to visit the Palazzo Ducale of Modena, a true jewel of architecture and artistic and historical beauty... just think that part of this palace is home to the military academy! This palace, among the most beautiful in Europe, can only be visited on Saturdays and Sundays by reservation!

Return to the hotel to freshen up and then an evening out in Modena and dinner at Old Wild West!

After breakfast at the hotel, I headed to visit the Galleria Estense, where I had the pleasure of admiring many beautiful works! then I visited other churches in the historic center and had a packed lunch

In the afternoon I went to the Enzo Ferrari Museum, dedicated to Enzo Ferrari, driver and founder of the Ferrari car company. You can breathe all the Italian excellence in this museum ..

I had dinner at Mc Donald's on Via Emilia!

Breakfast at the hotel and then I head downtown to take some more photos Visit to the Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti, you will love the ceiling and the external statue representing the famous Italian tenor!

I had lunch at the Trattoria “Madonnina” in Modena, amazing place!

In the afternoon visit the “Museo delle Figurina” whose birth is due to Giuseppe Panini! Inside there is a truly immense collection of figurines, ancient prints and calendars!

I had dinner at “Pizzeria del Viale”, the pizza was delicious!

Breakfast at the hotel and visit to the historic Albinelli Market, a covered market with many fruit, meat and fish stalls... where you can buy typical products from Modena!

I bought a pizza at the “Forno delle Rose” inside the Albinelli Historical Market💪🏻

In the afternoon visit to the Estense Ducal Garden Park And return to the Hotel!

Wake up, breakfast, pack your bags, check out from the hotel, take the train to Bologna and then the one to Porretta Terme!
