Oberstdorf - ski trip in Germany

We came to Oberstdorf by train from Paris. It’s quite comfortable with the Tgv, and the time goes fast. This year we had less snow, but it was still a perfect little holiday :) Oberstdorf is a small skiing and hiking town. It’s really quiet and peaceful, you can walk to the closest slopes or take a 10 mins bus drive to another, there’s a few options to ski by different levels. This picture was taken in one of the bus stops, ready to go to snowboard :) The buses are cheap, fast and frequent enough, that you don’t really need to rent a car if you don’t want to.

It’s been a while since we both used our snowboards, so just to refresh it was nice to start in Söllereck. They have the easiest slopes around and it’s not too busy usually

This lake is really close to the village, nice to visit for a small walk. Funny fact: there’s a lot of bench who has name on it, which means people got it as a wedding gift, that that’s there romantic spot to watch the nature. I found it quite cute :)

If you need some material it is possible to rent at the station and the good thing is that: if you want you can give them back here, you can, but if you have to take the bus to go back to the village, therés no problem, they work with the same system

Kanzelwand and Fellhorn are merging in to one big station, so in one day you can ski in Austria and Germany too. 😃

Fellhorn is really gorgeus with the mountains all around ☺️

In the restaurant if you have a sweet tooth, I would definitely advise to try the Germknödel. It’s my favourite ski food for sure 😋

If you walk up to watch the ski jumping spot, just behind it if you follow the road, there’s a little waterfall. 🤫

And if you like to see a truly magical place, go to Breitachlamm. It’s a few hours walk, among the gorge, and you feel like you are in the middle of a fairytale. Little note: take waterproof clothes and careful to do not miss the last bus 🍀

In Fellhorn you also have a little snowboard parc if you’d like to practice

Meanwhile we were at the slopes, my mom and the puppy really enjoyed the snow too

Nebelhorn it’s the hardest one, because it is full with black slopes. But really enjoyable if you are confident, with long slopes which go down until the village.

In Oberstdorf they try to organise a lot of events, so it’s worth to ask around. They had a concert Winterfest when we were there and it was a lot of fun.
