🇭🇷Welcome to Split, the second largest city in Croatia!🇭🇷 You’ll be greeted with teal blue waters as you look down from the airplane window. ✈️ We have loads on the agenda! Get ready for a trip filled with rich culture, boat trips, a national park adventure, beaches, and many cool medieval architecture! Let’s get started! ✨😊 FYI: 👇🏼 👇🏼 👇🏼 Air Bnb: 🏡 We constantly were on the move so we used Air Bnb to find great places to stay! I highly recommend using this app there as places are incredibly inexpensive outside split. Each air bnb we stayed at had great well working wifi, smelt nice, and was super clean!

The gem of Split; Diocletian’s Palace. If you haven’t figured it out already, this palace was built for the Roman emperor, Diocletian at the turn of the fourth century AD. Today, it’s still considered one of the most imposing Roman ruins! 💰 Price: inexpensive 📍 location: Diocletian’s Palace ⛅️ Weather: go on a partly cloudy day to help w/ heat! 📸Bring a camera!📸

Yum yum lunch time! 🥗☕️ On a hot summery day, salads are a perfect healthy treat! I got a salmon and avocado salad with tomatoes, pine nuts, and a balanced vinaigrette.

After being apart for 5 months because of covid last year, we reunited in Croatia! This was our first dinner together in a long time and it was at this lovely little restaurant near the water. 🥰

✨Welcome to Hvar!✨ Day 2 My boyfriend and I decided to rent a car in split and take it to the nearby islands! We hopped on a ferry and headed toward Hvar! ⛴ Hvar fortress was absolutely incredible with the old stone bricks, canons, and picturesque views of the ocean. What to know beforehand: ✨Loadssss of walking 🚶♀️ ✨ Hiking shoes for the stairs! 👟 ✨ Pack extra water 🎒 ✨ Definitely bring a camera 📷

✨Hello Hvar✨ Looming high above the town and lit with a golden glow, as seen in the photos above, a proud medieval fortress stands. The view looks down over the city, Hvar. This trudge of a hike up was like no other, so be ready! Every step, sweat drop, and pause for a lack of physical endurance, was all worth it once you reach the top!👟🙈 Firstly, you’ll meander up the tree shaded hillside, this is where I got loads of instagrammable worthy shots!📸🌲 Best time: 🌅 Come during sunset! 📍Location: Hvar Fortress, Hvar 💰Price: inexpensive 🎒Essentials: water, camera, good mood! 😍

✨Trogir trip!✨ Day 3 I could go on and on about this adorable little town. There’s so much this place has to offer and it’s literally right outside of split! Cheaper prices, less crowded beaches, secluded beach spots, more castles, cheaper and yummier ice cream, plus a harbor full of yachts!🤩🛥 😉 Trogir is known for its mix of Renaissance, baroque, and Romanesque buildings. In 2015, Trogir was nominated as the best city-island in the world! 🗺 Activities: 1. Historic city of Trogir 📖 2. The St. Lawrence Cathedral and Bell Tower 🔔 3. Fortress Kamerlengo 🏰 4. Waterfront promenade 🌊 5. Central Square 🌲
Excellent
It doesn’t take that long to walk through all of Trogir. As mentioned above, it’s a city island, so quite small! To get to Trogir you have to walk (or drive) across this bridge. Our Airbnb was quite close to Trogir so we just walked. It’s mostly just a walking city, so no need to drive the car in there. The bell tower and cathedral are true masterpieces. I’ve never understand how one could design such a work of art, let alone sculpt it to life! The beauty of Croatia is this, each town has some hidden architectural gem that you will fall in love with. ✨
Excellent
Remember those yachts I mentioned? 🛥 Well this is the perfect place to actually get some legit yacht pics! I basically just hopped right off of it in my third picture. 😉😏🤣 Sunsets in Trogir are best on the bridge! You get the sunset, ocean, and the view of the city! Truly a memorable town and a memorable name!✨

Krka National Park 🏞 Krka national park is known for containing lakes and waterfalls! Situated in the middle of Šibenik-Knin county in Croatia - another location you absolutely don’t want to miss on your trip to Croatia! Krka is actually a river in Dalmatia, Croatia’s southern-most province, which due to the local terrain forms into beautiful waterfalls. To beat the crowds you’ll definitely want to go early!✨🌲 🕰 Suggested duration: more than 3 hours 💰Price: 150 kunas (20 euros) ⏰Hours: 8am-8pm ✨November-March only 30 kunas Other things to know: There’s about 10 different exits. If you arrive at the Skradin entrance you get to take a boat through the canyon, super fun! Oh, You can drive your rental car, there’s plenty of parking!

One of the fun things to do in Krka National Park is taking a boat over to the small island of Visovac! Of course walking to falls is just as exciting! The park is HUGE, so make this a FULL day trip! If time allows, take a boat trip (which is included with your Krka National Park entrance fee) to see the Roski Slap waterfall which is made up of 12 separate falls! But come early for a good photo because it gets super crowded. Or stand further back hidden in the trees to get some good instagrammable shots! ✨Things to know ✨ - only one trail to follow - that trail is a wooden boardwalk - the trail only takes about an hour - mostly flat trail (not ideal for strollers)

✨Blue Cave, the highlight of your trip✨ This Blue Cave is one of the unique natural phenomena in the world, a magnificent work of Mother Nature right in front of your very own eyes! Located on Bisevo island is this cerulean oasis. Im sure you’re wondering how it turns that blue?!👇🏼 This blue oasis is formed due to seawater eroding limestone, a rock Biševo island is wholly composed of. The sunlight reflects off of the white seabed, which peers through the opening of a vault at the top of the cave, a mesmerizing blue hue fills its capacity. It’s so crazy because the Blue Cave only recently opened to the public. I’m so glad they did and I’m so glad I went! This place has proved its worth as a Croatian hotspot in a short time. 🤩 First things first: You can schedule your boat tour in split along the water. We went with the cheapest one we found with a smaller amount of people on the boat. We left early in the morning, around 7:30am and came back at about 5pm. Before you go through the cave, you stop at a smaller island just outside of the cave. There you can’t get a quick snack of even coffee, but they only have one little restaurant. They even have an ATM! Here you wait until it’s your turn in line to load onto a smaller rowboat that is permitted to enter the cave.

After the cave they take you to this cool little island outside of Hvar! Clearly it’s a perfect shot for an Instagram worthy photo here. 🤩 We only had around an hour and a half on this beach. Its small and only had the front and back side of the island that’s available for swimming. 🏊♀️ 🏖
Excellent
After the beach they take you to Hvar. Here you have time to eat, explore, or do whatever you please. Since Edvin and I had already been to this town we didn’t do much exploring and mostly rested since we were pretty exhausted from all the swimming and adventuring! Note: do not use this time to hike the fortress. You won’t have enough time to enjoy it. And the steps up are insanely difficult to do after an all day boat trip!

Headed to Jelsa! ⛴ Day 6 Ok finally, save best for last, am I right?🤩 This was hands down my favorite place on my trip. I absolutely adore this quiet and quaint little town. Let’s jump right into it on the next section!🥰👇🏼

How adorable is this gnocchi pasta dish?! 🤩 Jelsa is a small town only made for walking through. There’s a large parking lot right before the marina. Parking is only a few dollars for multiple hours! On the opposite side of the parking is a convenience store and a pharmacy. Further down, there’s two sides you can walk. If you walk to the right side you’ll see more cafes, restaurants, and ice cream shops. To the right you can walk around the harbor with all the sailboats. ⛵️ Over there on the right side you can capture the prettiest sunset while standing on the dock! 🌅
Excellent
This is easily why I adore this town, Jelsa. Jelsa pronounced “yell-suh” steals your attention and makes you never want to leave. The small town vibes, the old town charm, the harbor, friendly smiles, I couldn’t get enough of it! Standing on that dock, overlooking the town, was honestly one of the happiest moments in my life. I strongly recommend going to this place! How to get here: Take the ferry from split. It takes you straight to Jelsa’s port. Since we had a rental car we then drove down to the town and found parking from Google maps! ✨Wrapping it up✨ If I could do this trip all over again, I would in a heartbeat! You’ll easily be welcomed by every and all Croatian person that you meet. The rocky cliffs and teal waters will make you wish you lived there. I hope this gives you insight on traveling to Croatia. I also hope you put this top on your bucket list! Happy traveling, adventures! 🥰
