Snowboarding in Austria

We stayed at the Soulsisters‘ Hotel in Kaprun which is really close to Kitzsteinhorn, a very good ski area.

Since we were too late for dinner they arranged a „Brotzeit“ for us which was very tasty and really nice of the staff.

I‘m a beginner on the snowboard but try to go on a snowboarding vacation every year. Unfortunately on my first day the weather conditions weren’t the best but a least there were yummy drinks at the top.

Of course we also had some lunch at the ski area. It was okay but of course a little but pricey.

Since we have booked half board we had dinner at our hotel. It was a set menu and it was really tasty.

Can’t get over the view from our balcony…

After some snowboarding fun we decided to stay at the hotel and do some wellness. The spa was pretty good with an indoor and outdoor pool (not heated), sauna, jacuzzi… A huge plus: It was pretty much empty during the day.

The next day we visited the city of Kaprun and relaxed a bit more.

We also tried our luck and visited the lake at Zell am See, but unfortunately the weather conditions were pretty bad in the evening so we left very quickly.

It was the Easter weekend so we had an amazing Easter breakfast at the hotel.

The weather conditions got better so that we also visited Zell am See. The lake with all the mountains in the background is just beautiful.

Another dinner situation…

To get on top of the ski area you meet do use the gondola.

We started the day with a major view point. On top of the ski area there’s the Gipfelwelt 3000 where you are above 3000 meters and can have a very nice view.

Another day on the board. This time the weather was perfect so that we enjoyed the snowboarding a lot.
